In these difficult times, we are aiming to run Route 812 as normal. If you have any questions or concerns, please call us on 020 7275 2414.
Road closure on Prebend Street. This is affecting the 812 bus service due to a diversion. Specifically, the section of route including Packington Street and Essex Road before it turns onto Cross Street. The northern end of Packington Street section of the route is affected by the diversion.
Highways have confirmed that the road closure and diversion will be in place until the 27 Feb 2020.
About Route 812
Route 812 is your friendly local bus service in Islington, connecting people with nearby services and shops, their friends and family – or just helping people to get out and about.
It’s ideal for children, older people, disabled people, and parents with small children – but anyone can ride.
The service costs just £1 per trip – and Freedom Pass holders and children under 16 travel free. Oyster Cards, Travelcards and Saver Tickets are not accepted.
Route 812 runs between Bridport Place in Hoxton and Bath Street in Finsbury via Packington Street, the Sainsbury's supermarket in Islington, Percy Circus, Skinner Street (for Exmouth Market), The Peel on Northampton Road, Old Street (Golden Lane) and Dufferin Street. You can see the whole route map here.
The services run Monday to Friday (except public holidays), every 30 minutes from 9.30am. The last service leaves Bridport Place at 4.00pm. You can find the full timetable here.
Not your usual bus…
Route 812 has some special features that make it really helpful:
Hail and ride: You don’t have to get to a bus stop, just get to the route – wave and the bus will stop.
Easily ‘get-on-and-off-able’: The buses are low floor and fully accessible. The friendly drivers won’t rush off until you’re settled comfortably – they’ll even help you board.
Green machines: The service uses new, low emission vehicles, doing our bit for air quality where you live.
